BRIEF – Provide a community and family event to help raise awareness and funds for the Cancer Wellness Centre within the community.

STRATEGY – Provide a turnkey public event that involves the community but most importantly children and families. SHC created a Hero Run, whereby participants dress up as their favourite super hero and walk/run 5 KM to help raise funds and awareness about the Centre.

SOLUTION – Produce an event, run the logistics, provide the branding and marketing materials – including onsite registration documents, runner bibs, timing solutions and
coordinate with local city and emergency personnel. In it’s third edition, the event has
proved to be a darling within the community and has attracted media attention, and we’ve added partnerships with local cities and one of the largest school boards. Participation has increased year-over-year and funds raised have doubled over the last year.

RESULTS – Doubled participation between year 1 and Year 2. Increased fundraising year-over-year.
